What the ChiliDocs Free, Basic and Pro plans can do – and which HubSpot permissions ChiliDocs requests, and why.

ChiliDocs comes in three plans: Free, Basic and Pro. Basic and Pro offer the full feature set; Free is the free, restricted tier. This article explains what each plan can do and which HubSpot permissions ChiliDocs requests.

📊 What the plans can do

Free

  • Generate documents on Contacts (with Companies as an associated object).
  • 10 documents per calendar month.
  • No workflow automation.

Basic and Pro

  • Generate documents on all CRM objects: contacts, companies, deals, tickets, line items, custom objects.
  • Unlimited documents.
  • Workflow actions – generate documents automatically inside HubSpot workflows.

ℹ️ Free plan details

  • The app card works only on Contacts on Free.
  • For associated or placeholder data, Free has access to contact and company data. Data from deals, tickets, line items or custom objects is not included in Free documents – not even as an association.
  • Workflow actions are available on Basic/Pro only.
  • Free includes 10 documents per calendar month; Basic/Pro is unlimited.

🔑 Which HubSpot permissions ChiliDocs requests

When you install, ChiliDocs only requests the permissions needed for the relevant feature set. The guiding principle is least privilege.

Base permissions (every plan):

  • Read contacts and companies – to fill the placeholders in your templates.
  • Access to HubSpot Files – your templates and generated documents live in your HubSpot Files.
  • Attach documents/notes to records – so generated documents can be saved on the record.
  • Read owner and user information – for placeholders such as creator or owner.

Optional permissions (only for Pro features, and can be declined):

  • Read deals, line items and custom objects – for documents on or with those objects.
  • Automation/workflows – for the workflow actions.
  • Attach to companies/deals and multi-currency formatting.

ℹ️ Note on optional permissions

Optional permissions are only requested in Pro flows. If you decline one, the app still works – but the related Pro feature will not be available.
