📁 Folder structure

ChiliDocs reads templates from a fixed location in the HubSpot File Manager and stores generated documents there as well. The structure decides which templates appear in the card.

✅ Where templates live

Templates live in the ChiliDocs folder and any of its subfolders. Only .docx files are listed – other formats (.doc, .docm, .pdf, …) do not appear in the template picker.

✅ Reserved folders (never shown in the list)

• Attachment_Files – where ChiliDocs stores generated documents that are attached as notes on records.

• Archive_YYYYMMDD – backup copies of original templates, created automatically by a v6 placeholder migration.

✅ Organize subfolders

You can create any subfolders you like, e.g. by document type, language or team. For pipeline-specific templates see Pipeline folders.

💡 Note

Name files descriptively – the file name is visible in the template picker and (without extra logic) becomes the generated documents name. See Customize the file name.
