📊 Tables – overview

ChiliDocs fills dynamic tables in Word templates automatically with associated records – one row per record.

✅ Table layout

1. A paragraph with the start tag, e.g. [deal_table].

2. A Word table with a header row (no placeholders) and one row with placeholders.

3. A paragraph with the end tag, e.g. [deal_table_end].

ChiliDocs repeats the placeholder row per record. Tables inside layout tables also work.

✅ Table names

Always <object>_table: contact_table, company_table, deal_table, ticket_table, line_item_table, order_table, quote_table, subscription_table, course_table, note_table, user_table and custom objects. With a label: [company(Primary)_table].

✅ Options next to the start tag

[deal_table] [filter(dealstage=closedwon;limit=10;sort=amount desc)]

• filter – equality only (property=value); several separated by ; or ,. >, < or "contains" are not supported.

• limit=N – maximum number of rows.

• sort=property asc|desc (also property:desc). Sorting runs before the limit – sort=amount desc;limit=5 yields the five largest.

Without sort, notes are listed newest first; other objects follow HubSpots association order.

⚠️ Maximum of 500 rows per table.

✅ Amounts in line item and order tables

Use each records own currency: [line_item.amount(format:currency)].

✅ Notes table

[note_table] … [note.hs_timestamp(format:dd.MM.yyyy HH:mm)] [note.owner.hs_given_name] [note.hs_note_body] [note_table_end]

[note.hs_note_body] outside a table = the most recent note. Note HTML is converted to plain text.

💡 Example: line-item table for quotes

[line_item_table] with columns for name, hs_sku, quantity, price, discount, amount.
